The Outgoing Chairman, Gabriel Jug confers the Chairman’s Badge of Office to the new Chairman, Jonathan Challacombe.

The 15th Annual General Meeting of the branch was held at the Port of Bristol International Seafarers Centre.

The 15th Annual General Meeting of the branch was held at the Port of Bristol International Seafarers Centre. The meeting was attended in the main, by the Management Committee  together with a number of members/students. The branch was also privileged by a visit by Julie Lithgow, the Director and Robin Hill (Membership & Administration), from Head Office. 

There was full agenda  with the Chairman, Gabriel Jug giving his report for the year, before vacating the Chair in favour of the incoming Chairman, Jonathan Challacombe.

Theo Coliandris also stood down as Branch secretary following his recent election to International Vice Chairman of the Institute. Two new branch appointments followed, John Davey being appointed as Vice Chairman and James Coliandris as Secretary.

In addition, Barbara Fletcher retired her dual branch positions as a member of the Management Committee & Controlling Council Representative. This latter position, being taken up by the incoming Vice Chairman, John Davey, as previously agreed.

The meeting closed with Julie Lithgow and Robin Hill updating attendees on current issues and their thoughts for the future of the Institute.
